Welcome to Then the Morning Comes, a semi-realistic wild horse RPG where horses survive by their wits alone and the Homelands are currently caught in the grips of a civil war. Rebels converge in the jungles of Aquicul, outraged by the "unnatural" monarchy that has grown to cover nearly all the Homelands and the Royal Herd in the North struggles to ensure its saftey when family lies on both sides. Where do you stand? King or Freeland roamer, one thing is certain - turmoil lies ahead.

And so begins the second IC year of TMC! The mild winter has given way to a mild spring with light showers helping to soften the thawing ground. A faint haze of green shrouds the tree tops, a promise of foliage to come, and with the rising temperatures has come a bloom of new life. This season's newest additions can be seen romping at the feet of creatures of all shapes and sizes.

Thursday February 2nd --- Your admins apologize for neglecting this site! It just seemed like people were drifting in and out, joining other sites and whatnot after the holidays, so I guess we figured people had lost interest here. Silver has called for us to shape up and get back into TMC. I agree. I miss it.
SO, Hat and I would truly appreciate it if you told your friends (be they former members or not) to get their butts over here!! My plan to get myself back into the swing of things is to maybe archive some of my charries until I can get better organized. Perhaps that could be your plan too, that is if you're feeling stressed out but still want to return.
I know Nala has been excited for the site to start back up and with two members asking for us to return, how could we not??

Awards
December's Character of the Month award will be taken by Rembrandt, of my own creation. Setting aside the awkwardness of writing about my own character in relation to such an honor, I'd say he's a rather unique individual that thrives on just that. He is a native of Gavril and therefore follows cajun traditions, including his form of speech and has the distinction of being one of the first characters to be created here on TMC. I'm quite honored that he was chosen as TMC's first Character of the Month.
Nala takes the cake as December's Member of the Month, and I'd say rightly so! She is most definitely one of the sweetest, most accommodating people here and never passes up the chance to plot with anyone and everyone. There was no question in my mind that such a wonderful member would stand out and the choice of Nala almost goes without saying. Congratulations, love!

Vanechka (1 sub-board) The northernmost point of the Homelands, Vanechka is no place for the faint of heart. Bitterly cold and almost completely barren, very few horses choose to make their home here and even those who do must seek refuge elsewhere come winter when blizzards smother the sparce tundra vegitation and the sun refuses to rise.
Selbrinar (1 sub-board) Slightly milder than her northern cousin, Selbrinar boasts several thriving year-round populations of both equines and caribou. Fading from frigid tundra in the north to dense pine forests in the south, the landscape is flat but diverse.
Gaderian Mountains - 1 Viewing (1 sub-board) The only part of the Northern Mountains that can boast any kind of forest, the Gaderians are a densely wooded range with a variety of flora and fauna scattered from her highest peaks to her most secluded hollows.
Rorah Hills (2 sub-boards) Nestled against the Northern Range, the Rorah Hills make up the Homeland's highlands. A vast tract of rolling grass, thin forest, and the occasional craig, this is a place deep rooted in tradition.
Calcryx Forest (2 sub-boards) Clacryx Forest is as ancient as it is vast. Some of the oldest trees here are up to a horse length thick, centuries of forest horses have come and gone under their watch. Along with vast tracks of forest and coast, Calcryx is also home to lake Daoud Lake- the Homeland's largest source of fresh water.
Gavril Marsh (1 sub-board) Marsh land on the shore of Daoud, Gravril quickly turns to boggy swamp land as you head further west. Any equine who ventures here can expect to get wet and muck covered; they'd do well to watch out for mires as well. Very few horses who stick a careless hoof in that thick sucking mud ever make it out alive.
Dery Hollow (4 sub-boards) Dery Hollow is a small flowering clearing in the woods around Kalf Lake. Mares from all over the Homelands come here to foal and equine couples often come to Dery to court. -Breeding Board, come here for foal stats-
Kalf Lake (2 sub-boards) Kalf Lake and its neighboring lands make up the majority of the Freelands. Surrounded by grassland, woods, and several notable meadows, there is plenty of land and diversity for any equine who wishes to live outside the influence of a King.
Aquicul (1 sub-board) A territory that has never quite been subdued, Aquicul remains wild and independent. Thick rain forest coats this land from coast up into the west side of the Pytor and rain is almost a daily occurrence.
The Plains (3 sub-boards) A vast tract of grassland, the Plains extend from the Peli river down to the outskirts of Jakue Canyon. The horizon stretches on as far as the eye can see, and grass waves like an empty green ocean, interrupted by scrub only occasionally.
Blesk Bay (1 sub-board) Surrounded by the Calcryx Forest in the east and the Plains in the west, this mighty bay opens into the ocean. Though a horse wouldn't dare to get out that far, it is still a popular spot for those aquatically inclined . Many congregate here to relax and unwind and sunrises here are quite beautiful, with pale light of morning reflecting off the water .
Jakue Canyon (2 sub-boards) Carved out of the landscape by a river now long dead, Jakue Canyon is a massive rift in the Homelands, effectively separating the Cadmon from the Plains.
Cadmon Desert (2 sub-boards) Cadmon is a rolling expanse of sand that makes up the majority of the Far South. Trapped in Aquicul's rain shadow, rain here is a rarity and a blessing.
Kelonu (2 sub-boards) Kelonu is a tropical island located just off the coast of Aquicul. This is the land of birds of paradise, ever-blooming flowers, and white sandy beaches. The swim from the mainland is treacherous, but the beauty and safety of this island paradise is a strong draw .
