Rowan So this is where they're meeting? Rowan's distaste grew with each step she took through the horrendously dense forest. Why? Her brown eyes were forced to close constantly as not only leaves and branches assaulted her face, but a sudden plague of sun-rain dripped from the treetops. Why indeed.
A loud snort escaped her as a sudden thud hit her rump causing her to leap forward in a flurry of red and white. Augh. She mused disgustedly as she slowed herself to prevent any more injury to herself. What the... And a leaf smacked directly into her mouth. To spit was un-ladylike and yet Rowan didn't hesitate to remove the troublesome plant from her maw in such a violent manor.
She'd come to find the rebels. The thought had sent thrills through her for some time now, and the spit-fire mare was finally ready. Ready to fight, to aide in any way possible, to avenge for her families exile. But first she thought she'd try to convince the crazy bastards to move headquarters somewhere less, well rain forest-y.

Raylan was never still. The stallion needed to move. There was something in a rain forest like Aquicul that made him never stop to revere its beauty but run to keep himself in form. It was the perfect place, really. The north was too cold and slippery. The plains were too flat and boring. The desert sand was too troublesome. A rain forest though; those were filled with logs and branches and myriad other things to practice avoiding. It wasn't often that he made it through unscathed though. Who could? Pointed limbs and rocks seemed to come out of nowhere with every turn and Raylan wasn't alwasy one to correctly estimate the size of a log in proportion to how powerful his leap should be to get over it.
The stallion was a rebel. He hated the Northern monarchy. Raylan wanted no part in their control other than to get them out of it. He was an enormous supporter of the Aquicul rebellion and was willing to fight if necessary to get the monarchy dissolved. The beauty of the forest was not what he considered at this moment as he bounded logs and pulled away from stray branches; he was running on his will to succeed.
As he began to feel the burn, he was interrupted. It was not the tropical flowers or magnificent birds that made him slow to a halt. It was something else. The red and white blur... What had that been? His hooves covered in the mud he'd screeched to a stop in, he had to pull them up especially hard to release them from the earth's grasp, his head turned back to where he'd seen the disruption.
With a few blinks, Raylan's mind decided on the shape. It was a mare. She was beautiful. Much more captivating than the forest, if that was at all possible. It was not only her form, but her color that caught his eye. Such contrast reminded him of his own family's. He approached slowly, making plenty of noise so as to make sure she knew he was coming. It was simply rude to scare a stranger...
OO Sorry this took so long!

Rowan Preoccupied with her own issues, Rowan nearly missed the flash of white running through the thick forest. It could have been anything from a flash of light to another animal, but for a moment all Rowan's mind could think of was her mother; the beautiful, white speckled mare that had starved to death not far from here. As she stood thinking about the missed equine, her hooves continued to be sucked into the mud.
Damn, She hissed trying to pick herself out of the thick goo. You have got to be kidding me. A thick sucking sound came from the reluctant mud as it released her back left hoof from its greenish brown mess. Yuck, this stuff better not stain. Momentarily she let her dirty leg hang in the air, unwilling to place it down again. If she did it was sure to be stuck again in the effort to escape the other three submerged limbs.
Ah, but someone else was here. Hey! She exclaimed in a louder-then-normal voice. Hey you out there! Come here and help me. Rowan figured if it was here, a native rain forest dweller, she'd already be dead if that was what it wished. That's one thing her mother had told her about Aquicul.

"Stuck, are we?"
His voice was interested, though laced with sarcasm. Raylan was more than willing to oblige the young lady presented before him, a genuine smile on his face. Sleek and slippery as his appearance made him out to be, he truly was a kind stallion with only the best of intentions, though things did not always go as planned for him. It was not always clear to his new acquaintances, though that was alright with him.
He'd approached by way of a bush standing between them. He stood there, half his barrel obstructed from view by the bush and his front half visible. A small laugh escaped him at the sight of such a beautiful creature in a situation so humorous. She was clearly in no danger - he did not exactly make haste to help her. Some could call him cruel, though others could say he always looked for the fun in any given situation.
Raylan took a few steps closer to the red and white mare, taking care with each step to keep his own hooves from getting stuck. His head lowered and inched closer and closer to her mud-dripping hooves, making such slow progress as to make it clear that he was toying with her. "Hmm... Yep. I'd say you're stuck!"
His examination complete, Raylan lifted his head high, proud of his diagnosis and still in no hurry to get her out of her predicament.

Rowan. No shit, Sherlock. Rowan snapped at the stallion as he stood looking at her. For a moment she felt a bit bad for doing it, but then looking back to her feet the feeling left her. Are you going..... A loud suck came as her front right hoof escaped the earth. to help me? Or shall I call for someone else? Her newly green leg stretched out in front of her only to be placed back into the same sinking mud that was beneath her.
Obviously irritated, the red mare struggled lightly with her predicament causing her entire body to move awkwardly, fighting the earth. I must look like an idiot. Her mind wondered as she continued to escape. Not a smart move for someone not skilled in the ways of mud.
With a shrill squeak, Rowan landed nose first in the goo. Coming up cursing, the mare's nose dripped and flung more goo into the air. Damn, damn, damn it all. She was really irritated now.
ooc : I feel bad cause shes so rough around the edges. xD -pets Anitas obvious sister-

Raylan blinked a few times at the mare's language. It wasn't often he came across any horse with salty words like those, let alone a mare. He was known on occasion to curse, though not twice in one bind. Or, rather, four times...
As the red and white stranger struggled in her earthen trap, Raylan couldn't help but smirk. He took a step to the left as his eyes followed her, a brow high. "Am I going to help you... Well ma'am, you can rest assured that no one is going to help you unless you change your tune," he said condescendingly, a hint of playfulness in his voice. He acted as if he were talking to a child, his smirk slowly inching into a genuine smile. His head tilted a bit as he waited for her to apologize.
Not all stallions would be as accommodating as Raylan planned to be. He laughed as the mare's nose slipped into the mud, flinging the gruesome substance around. Raylan dodged a clump as it just missed his face, not able to contain his laughter. Quickly collecting himself, he shook his head, smile still heavy on his face. "Well?"

Rowan Now completely caked in the disgusting goo, Rowan felt slightly defeated. She just wanted to get out. That was all. Fine, she said with a sigh. I'm sorry, but don't expect me to start begging. She stood still looking up at him from her sinking hole of mud. Her brown eyes blinked, threatening to resort to flirting, to pawn herself out.
No, no no no. You will not do that Rowan. Her mind flicked back to the red demon that had seduced her father. You are not like that. Would you please help me? She asked diverting her eyes, trying to show little to no interest in the interesting stallion before her. You only need to get unstuck, then you'll be on your way.

Finally the mare had given up. Raylan rounded her until he was squarely behind. Head still tilted a bit, he replied: "That's a right girl." The stallion placed his hooves carefully onto what stable ground there was behind her and tucked his head in until his chin touched his chest. Slowly stepping closer, his crest reached the side of her thigh so as to help push her forward out of the nasty prison. His help was concentrated and slow, but still effective. How silly would it look if he, in turn, would have had to ask for her help right after he'd done the same for her? They'd be stuck in the predicament all day!
"You'd best help me out here..." he said, his crest still pushing against the mare. She wasn't going anywhere unless she put in just as much effort as he was.

Rowan I'm trying. Rowan replied, her face and voice twisted with effort. She resisted from cursing again knowing that it received a negative response from this stallion. After an exceeding amount of pressure and pushing, a deep sound released her from her prison, sending her flying forward completely off balance.
A loud crash, followed by shaking leaves, greeted Rowan as she slammed into the thick foliage around them. Oh god. She said preparing herself to turn back to the stallion.

And so she was, as evidenced by her prompt release from her muddy prison. With a smack of the moist earth slapping against itself, the mare was sent forward at a speed that she clearly had not prepared for. Raylan instinctively leapt backwards to keep his own self out of the mud as he watched the misfortune unfold before him. The poor thing! Raylan did not hold back as laughter erupted from his voice.
"I gotta say ma'am, that was probably the richest thing I've seen in a while!" he said as he rounded the treacherous mud to reach her side, lowering his head to hers. The stallion extended his neck so as to help her up again. The mare was a sight to behold. "Say, what's your name? I gotta remember you!"

Rowan Oh sure, laugh it up. Rowan thought while watching the mostly white stallion approach her. She was about to say, "I don't appreciate that." when he reached down to her, a gesture of helping her up. For a moment she thought her mouth would drop clear open with shock, then she regained her composure, standing back up to full height.
Uh, thanks, but I don't think you'll need to remember this. She let out a small laugh herself looking up into his eyes. I know your name; I'll find you if I get stuck in another puddle. A light batting of the eyes eclipsed before she realized what she was doing. No no no. Stop being a a flirt. Her tail flicked and she looked away again.

"Y'do? How's that?" he asked, all playfulness aside. He hadn't told her... Was he really that well-known? Raylan supposed it was possible. He'd met many in the forest and was often pretty out-spoken when the subject of the Northern King came along, as it often did. He pulled back up to his normal height.
His forelock out of the way, Raylan took a good look at the newly-freed mare. Just as before, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. By her words, it seemed as though she was fixing to leave. He couldn't have that. He nickered to entice her to give him her name. What did he have to go on if he couldn't have her name? If she knew his, it was only fair...

Rowan Well, she stalled. Dug a hole with that one didn't you girl? All I'd have to do is call you. She smiled again, watching him sweetly. Since you already know what I sound like stuck ankle deep in mud. She laughed lightly at herself as she tried to dig herself out and failed. You might as well tell him now.
I'm Rowan. I've come to see the rebels.
ooc : fail. xD

Raylan laughed as his brows raised. The mare was fun to be around, even if she had distracted him from his daily exercise. It was a welcome interruption.
As she introduced herself, Raylan glanced over her frame, assigning her name and appearance to memory. It was a rare occurrence when the stallion forgot a face. He had somewhat of a photographic memory when it came to his experiences. It wasn't like any male in his right mind could forget a mare that looked like Rowan anyhow. She was a eyeful, to be sure.
"Well Rowan, it's nice to meet you," he said, bobbing his head a little in greeting. "We're all a bit scattered right now, but things'll settle on down when we reconvene. I'm sure Duncan's just itchin' to get everyone back together." The last rebel meeting had been a little scatter-brained and not too well organized. Everyone needed time to collect themselves and fully commit to the cause before undertaking something they weren't ready for. It would be long though... Raylan smiled at Rowan. She was smart to come and join the cause.

Rowan So you are a rebel then? She eyed him with a light smile. He was most likely a rebel not willing to allow her to join after her fit of mistakes today. I'm glad. She tried to convince herself with the last statement, only ending up sounding lost in thought.
Rowan felt gross. She felt dirty and within the feeling she felt less then. The stallion stood over her with no sign of pity or disrespect and yet all Rowan wanted to do was get out of there, at least for a little while. Can you take me to them? Her voice was soft as she tried to get over the fact that she looked and smelled like a rain forest mud puddle. Perhaps you know of a water hole, um, your name?
ooc : fail. xD
