About the Kenren

Many of you have seen me around - I was on The Last Hoofprints for awhile, Unbridled, and a few other sites. I spend most of my time on a wolf site called Sordid Secrets, but occasionally I have the urge to go back to my equine-roleplay roots. I've been roleplaying for about six years or so. I'm eighteen years old (I know, I'm ancient Dx) and I am a freshman at Michigan State University, going for a Bachelors in Animal Science, and then applying to vet school in three and a half years. One of the perks is getting to work with some of the most well-bred Arabians in the world - one stallion at stud here is a Polish and American national champion.

BENEATH THE SURFACE
Personality: Though he's six, he hasn't learned to keep his mouth shut. He's sarcastic and can be more than a little rude. He'll pick a fight with just about any stallion he comes across - though insults do little to set him off, he loves to push others' buttons. He generally won't get more than a little irritated, though others have gotten outright enraged at him. With mares he's a little better, but not by much. He can be something of a bully if they can't stand up for themselves, and he'll pick that up right away. Basically, mare or stallion, if they can take his constant taunts and bribes with good nature, then they will probably get along. If he senses weakness, he'll pounce like a wolf on the prowl (verbally, anyway).

Personality: Seyst is young, and has the mind of a dreamer. She's smart, but she's a hopeless romantic, so she'll give a stallion the benefit of a doubt even if he would seem potentially bad or dangerous to others. She gets along with pretty much everyone, and is very social with other mares. She may be naive, but she has a good heart and a sound mind, only marred by the failings of youth.

Personality: More than anything, Mel is a very critical mare. It has earned her the nickname 'Spinster,' though no one would ever call her that to her face. It's widely believed that she'll forever be alone - not because of her looks, because she's quite an attractive mare, but because she never thinks any stallion is good enough. She always finds flaws. She is quick to anger and to be irritated, which gives her a sharp tongue. She's not cruel, she just, mostly, doesn't know how to communicate well with others.

History: Melanie grew up the oldest daughter of her parents. One might think she'd have been spoiled, but that was never the case. As Mazie was born the year after her, she learned responsibility from a young age. The desert was a harsh place to live, but she was taught the ways to survive. Her father was much like she ended up - very critical of those around him, but more because he hated weakness in the herd than anything else. She picked up on this, and does it subconsciously. When her brother was born, Mel decided it was time to move away from her family, and relocated to another part of the desert. She had no plan, just that she didn't want to babysit for the rest of her life. She lives her life day-to-day, with nothing special to break those days apart. She doesn't let anyone get close.
