HISTORY:

Pre-Creation: Sterling's history starts with how his parents came to be together. His father, a bay stallion named Ore, had admired Sterling's mother (a black-based grey mare named Valorie) from afar for many seasons. He at first tried to woo the mare but she declined his advances due to her own interests in another stallion. However, he was not to be deterred and, in the middle of the night, he stole Valorie from her home and fled to the farthest reaches of the north. It took the passing of two of the same season but finally Ore was able to win over Valorie over enough to impregnate her. When it was near her time to birth, Ore took their family to Selbrinar, a kinder environment for a new foal. Despite his jealous nature, Ore was a kind stallion and a good father to the newly born Sterling. His mother, although bitter that her own desires were shot, loved her son and sought to teach him to be everything that she herself had wanted in a stallion. When Sterling was old enough, Ore moved their family back to Vanechka and it was there that they lived for many years. During the winter months they would take shelter in Selbrinar but, despite Sterling's pleas, they never left the Far North. When he was three Sterling left his family to be a bachelor with some of the other young stallions of the north and it was with them that he stayed for another two years. Upon word of his mother being ill, Sterling returned to his hometown and helped to care for her. But, in such a cold, she would not be able to heal - she died the morning of Sterling's sixth birthday. His father was heartbroken and, in his grief, asked Sterling to stay. Ore died within the year. Following the death of his parents Sterling vowed to journey the world that his parents had kept him from. And so, his story continues.
