Rafael
Winter had arrived in the homeland, and even the desert king could feel it in his bones. Thankfully it never got too cold here, not cold enough to weaken his new born son at least. Kaldin was a beautiful young lad, standing taller and straighter every day. His mother was the definition of proud, constantly standing over him with a smile stretching clear across her face. It wasn't that Rafael wasn't proud of his first born, on the contrary, Rafael beamed each time he set his eyes on the small bay dun. Rafael's pride was merely compromised with a slight worry. The bay knew what it was to be king, and as difficult as it was, to be the father of an heir was a completely different story.
Today the king was traveling through the territory, greeting any newcomers and warding off any danger. Today Rafael was thinking. The delicately featured stallion kept his head high, as it was meant to be placed on his lean body, his nose held close to his neck. His black legs moved at a trotting pace, each hoof digging into the sand before spraying it around as it moved on. His son needed so many things, even at his young age. Kaldin needed to stay safe, he needed to learn the territory, he needed to get smarter and stronger, and he needed to know all and more of what his father knows. It seemed impossible to the king; how could he teach his son more then he already knows? Kasra's image came into his mind, dancing through his thoughts. His queen would teach their son as well, she was teaching him now he presumed. Rafael had left them in the oasis for his patrols. The thought of being away from them caused him to worry even more. He had to hurry back soon, after he made a thorough sweep of the territory.
