I am a Mare of Diomedes, consumer of flesh. The thought drifted casually through his mind, an odd bit of myth who's origin he'd forgotten. The Mares of Diomedes, cannibal creatures plagued by a queerness of mind that could only be cured by the consumption of flesh... Livy considered it, for he to was in a strange place of mind, but the image of pulsing flesh beating like a second heart in his throat... It was more than even he could stomach.
The pale palomino stud picked his way carefully down the hillside in search of grass since horse did not seem to suit him. It was more than hunger that compelled him though. The atmosphere in Larel had become suffocating. It hung about the place like toxic fog, stinking up his beautiful valley, burning his eyes and throat with its foulness though he did not know the cause.
They wouldn't tell him. He didn't have to ask, experience had taught him better. He was Livius, the king's pet brother, respected, avoided, but he could avoid them to.
The lesser prince steeped cautiously into a clearing. Alone. And what a bitter sweet solitude it was, the ache softened slightly as he dropped his head and began to crop the tender spring shoots. I am the devourer of the flesh of the earth...
OOC : Livy is weeiirrdddd xDDD

Kartik
Kartik's head was down as he made his way down a hillside, his feet pointed toward the mountians and avoiding the occasional exposed rock that posed a tripping hazard, halfway-hidden in the grass. A light mist clung to the wooded mountians in a vague, half-hearted way, barely visable near him as it dissolved in the sun but building up into the distance; the spring had come with great clouds of fog this year and it distorted the peaks somewhat, blending the trees into the horizon until the other side was a monochrome gray-blue.
"Lost horizon." Kartik murmured to himself, turning his eyes to the sky for moment before focusing on the path again--it wouldn't do for him to break a leg when he was only halfway to his destination. It had been a seldom-used phrase where he had been born, in the woodlands, and he hadn't learned it until he had visited the shore, where the sea and the sky often melted into one another with nearly no distinction between the two. It was both disorienting and beautiful at the same time.

Fully absorbed in the process of filling his empty stomach, it was sometime before the sound of another horse's approach registered with him and when it did Livus immediately assumed it to be Lotte. Forgetting for a moment that he had left the valley, Livy uttered a shrill whinny, bits of grass still clinging to his mouth. Of course once his focus returned it was obvious that the tan coat weaving through the trees could not be his beloved sister, yet Livy stood by his greeting. It was not often he had the chance to meet new horses, tucked away in Larel under the watchful eye of many. It would be wasteful of him to pass up this rare opportunity, Mother knew when it would present itself again.
ooc :meh xD;;

Kartik
Kartik had not been expecting to meet anyone in the rather secluded section of the forest, and the dappled dun jumped slightly as a shrill whinny came in his direction from the bottom of the hill, though luckly no ill fate befell him or his legs. He stopped, a few rocks skittering down the slope before him, and looked at the horse, who much closer than he would have expected, curiously; it wasn't like him to pay such little attention. The stallion was a little small, and slightly cow-hocked, a light palomino that gave off a very slight air of unkemptness, but he was looking up at him eagerly, and Karitk, having not been raised to keep people waiting, began to make his way down the hill again until he was level with Livius.
"Hello," The stallion said, his voice friendly, even if he was slightly cautious.
[ooc: I know how that goes. xD]

PAPARAZZI ooc- sorry for jumping in! The mare looked at her feet judging the looks around her. She has never felt so alone, so lost. Yet with her heart beating she forward. This wasn't her home nor did she have an idea were she was. The mare paused checking the wind, the sounds and the smells. Summer heat didn't give way in the mountains. It seemed freezing cold. But the mare didn't notice. Paparazzi herd a sound and smelled of another horse. The more she moved on the more she noticed. As she looked down at what she thought were to stallions she let out a high pitched whinny. Hopefuly they would her her and give her some delight. Paparazzi turned and spoke into the unknow. "Hello?"
