My eyes fluttered open softly and I looked around sadly at the empty oasis. It seemed that no one came here anymore, though that wasn't the real reason for my sadness. No, I was sad because I had been here to long. I knew now that there was nothing in the desert for me, I knew that horses had gathered just over the mountains to the west; I felt a pull to go with them, but something had kept me here.
It was so very conflicting to be alone. I looked around the area once before deciding that the thing keeping me here wasn't worth it. Standing I went down to the water to drink before starting my journey. It would be bittersweet to leave my home but there really wasn't anything here for me. I sighed, not unhappily, and turned towards the west," This is it."

Notebellum It was the last place anyone would look. That was why it was the perfect place to look for the mosaic's herd. The whole search had started to take a toll on the mare. Her chestnut and palomino coat no longer shined in the sun. Her mane and tail were tangled and matted with sand and dust, since Notebellum neither had the time nor the determination to wash them.
In the desert, the sand was making her life no easier as she had to shake her head every few steps to free any sand that had caught on to her mane or eyelashes. As she continued to walk, she noticed how the air started to thicken until it was almost evident that it was getting humid, as if there was water nearby. There can't be water in the desert. That's not possible. But the mare didn't complain, at least she could sweat the warmth away in the somewhat wet air instead of suffering in the dry air.
In the distance, she saw the figure of another horse. The mare smiled, wondering if they perhaps had seen her herd. There was only so much distance they could have went. Someone had to have seen them. "Hello? You there."
